Industry 5.0 Definition
What is the 5th Industrial Revolution?
The 5th Industrial Revolution, also known as Industry 5.0 or 5IR, marks a unique phase of accelerated industrial productivity driven by artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation and technological innovation. This era not only presents one of the most significant and rapid growth opportunities across all industries, but it is also accompanied by unprecedented levels of risk. While AI can be leveraged to enhance prosperity for skilled and well-equipped individuals, it also holds the potential to diminish it for others. The speed of technological advancement itself poses a major risk to both industry and humanity. Effective policies and regulations are essential; however, a lack of timely governance, along with delays and bureaucratic inertia from both organizations and governments continues to hinder both safe and optimal implementation. There are three distinct phases of the 5th Industrial Revolution, from experimentation to productivity and risk management. These are defined below.​​
Phases of the 5th Industrial Revolution

Phase 1: Familiarization and Experimentation (2023-2024)
Phase 2: Productivity and Innovation (2025 onwards)
Phase 3: Risk Management and Human-Focus Mitigation (and Adaptation) (Realignment with humanity's needs, where businesses have moved too quickly with phase 2)
